NHK的第56部晨间剧。本剧是一部以美容家闻名于世的吉行安久利（小说家、吉行淳，女演员吉行和子，小说家，诗人·吉行理惠的母亲，小说家、吉行荣助的妻子，2015年1月去世。）真实经历所创作的连续剧。 故事的主要舞台是：冈山县冈山市以及东京（市ヶ谷）。剧情围绕着女主角·安久利（田中美里 饰）对于作为美容师的热情、周围的人际关系、以及对当时的时代背景的描绘等等而展开。其中由野村万斋扮演的男主角，安久利的丈夫·荣助人气高涨，他的突然死去令观众受到很大冲击，NHK亦收到免死请愿（即希望修改设定为“实际上还活着”之类）。
