A filmmaker finds creative freedom more elusive than he imagined in this ironic comedy-drama. Tired of the state-appointed producers and censorship in his homeland, Soviet Georgia, Niko decides to move to France, only to find that he has merely traded one type of interference for another.
After 16 years of imprisonment, 40-years-old Gogliko is released from jail. He doesn't exactly know what he did that deserved 16 years of jail time. A free man, a changed country awaits him. His personal life has drastically altered. His parents have passed and most of his friends have died during the Civil War period. Gogliko realizes that he will not be able to find his place in this "new" Georgia, only thing he has to do is to care about his passed friend's 16-years-old son.
The film depicts one of the most terrible and painful problems of Georgian reality - drug addiction. The heroes gradually lose their perception of reality and time. Everyday life becomes unbearable and unbearable, eventually the heroes will face the harsh reality.
Soldiers in cars drive around the city day and night, erasing or covering with paint any drawing on the wall, even one that does not have political overtones. But for two “spontaneous protestors” - a writer who is refused to be published, and a young artist-photographer, whose art is also now not in honor, a kind of exchange of painted messages becomes the meaning of their existence in an era that seems to be not conducive to creativity.
