Efter att en planlöst drivande satellit kraschar nära en avlägsen by i New Mexico upptäcker räddningspatrullen att alla invånare i samhället, utom, konstigt nog, ett spädbarn och en gammal hemlös man, har gått en fruktansvärd död till mötes. De överlevande förs till ett underjordiskt högteknologiskt laboratorium där förbryllade vetenskapsmän slåss mot tiden för att fastställa vad det är för typ av utomjordiskt dödligt virus som satelliten burit med sig, innan det sprider sig över världen.

Snart kommer hela världen gå omkring och slafsa i sig blå apelsiner! I alla fall om vetenskapsmannen Zalamea får som han vill. Han har lyckats framodla den fantastiska fruktan som blir fullmogen på bara fem dagar och kan växa utan vatten. Världssvälten kan snart vara ett minne blott! Professor Kalkyl får en inbjudan till Spanien för att fira upptäckten, men i vassen lurar de mest nattsvarta skurkar. Den magiska apelsinen stjäls och båda professorerna kidnappas. Men det är fel professor skurkarna bråkat med! För det vet ju alla att Kalkyls bästa vänner är Tintin, Milou, Kapten Haddock och tvillingarna Dupond & Dupont - alla bovars skräck! Tintins äventyr fungerar på samma sätt som Disneys filmer.

Yaemori Alice is a chef with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) whose favorite phrase is “Cooking is chemistry.” She’s not good at communicating with people, but has an amazing memory, and holds a vast amount of knowledge, especially in her favorite subject, chemistry. A mysterious young man called Sakae Kousei shows up at the popular restaurant “Alice no Okate” looking for a live-in part time job, which is run by Alice’s childhood friend. Although Kousei seems abrasive and unfriendly, he is kind at heart, and though at first he is confused by Alice’s actions and words, he gradually comes to support her. Under the watchful eye of her protective father Shingo, an openly gay university professor, Alice works at her own pace and warms everyone’s hearts with delicious food. However, there is a big secret about her upbringing and her family that even she herself didn’t know about.

The film comprises nine 18-minute sections touching on various aspects of scientific inquiry that its makers say can be shown as a whole, as it is in this engagement, or in any combination of its parts.
