Egipčanski svečenik Imhotep je bil zaradi prešuštva s faraonovo priležnico preklet in obsojen na mumifikacijo pri živem telesu. Leta 1923 ga v puščavi Egipta nehote obudijo lovci na zaklade.

Ponovno najdene strani iz dnevnika morilca ameriškega predsednika Abrahama Lincolna dokazujejo, da je bil v zaroto vpleten tudi Benov pra pra dedek. Da bi dokazal nedolžnost svojega prednika, se Ben poda na težavno razkrivanje sledi in ugank iz preteklosti, ki ga vodijo od Pariza do Londona, toda dokončni odgovor se skriva v knjigi skrivnosti, do katere se lahko dokoplje le tako, da ugrabi predsednika ZDA.

Much of the series was filmed in the City of Bath, Somerset, with locations including the University of Bath campus. Additional locations included Brean Down Fort and Kings Weston House, Chavenage House for episodes 5 & 6 and Sheldon Manor. On 21 November 2008 Broadcast magazine revealed the show would not be returning for a second series.
