One evening, Princess Sakura is attacked by a man. At that time, the Princess could not see his face. and only sees a tattoo on his body. Because of that that night, Princess Sakura falls in love with the man. In order to find the man she gives up everything and gets the same identical tattoo. The princess then works as a prostitute. Meanwhile Gonsuke is the man who attacked Princess Sakura. He also stole a scroll and, because of that, he is chased by assassins.

At the end of October, Sueko Yamane, a widow living alone, is strangled to death in her home in the Togura district on the outskirts of Matsuyama City, Ehime Prefecture. Money had been stolen, and it appeared to be a robbery and murder. Kaharu Ginsaku (Tomokazu Miura), head of the First Investigative Division at the Ehime Prefectural Police Headquarters, who was in charge of the investigation, did not anticipate that this case would turn out to be an unexpectedly difficult case. At the end of that year, in a forest overlooking the Genkai Sea in Karatsu City, Saga Prefecture, Kyushu, Kazuo Shimosaka (Shiro Sano) puts his hands around the neck of his girlfriend, Nobuko Mano (Saki Takaoka), and strangles her to death.

A couple died in Lake Tazawa in Akita Prefecture, in an apparent double suicide, the circumstances of which were unclear.

A woman is discovered strangled inside a car, and Inspector Muta of the Yamashita police station hurries to the scene! The relationship between the murdered woman and a suspect whom the new Assistant Inspector, Iwaki, has been pursuing for one year will soon become clear...

An attorney from Yokohama is found murdered at Lake Toya in Hokkaido. Uematsu (Noi Yasuo), of the Hokkaido police goes to Yokohama in search of Konno Shizuka (Watanabe Azusa), a woman who may know something about the case. He tries to take her in to the station for questioning. Muta (Kobayashi Keiju) happens to be there as well. Muta learns that Konno has a debt with a moneylender in Hokkaido.

A travel writer on an assignment comes across a murder, tries and fails to chase down the criminal. He notices the corpse was switched for another one...
