Cauza par a fi blestemele aruncate asupra satului de practicanti unui cult demonic, al căror lăcaș este un templu la care pentru a ajunge, trebuie sa fii puțin nebun. Numai Indiana Jones poate remedia situația, după ce va trece, bineînțeles, printr-o serie de aventuri incredibile.

Filmul spune povestea unui concierge (gestionar) legendar de la un hotel european renumit între războaie și prietenia sa cu un tânăr angajat care devine protectorul său de încredere.
