Kim Shin (Gong Yoo) é um goblin imortal e protetor de almas. Ele é o senhorio do ceifador (Lee Dong-Wook), que é o responsável por conduzir as almas de pessoas falecidas. Shin está farto de ser imortal, mas precisa de uma noiva humana para acabar com sua longa vida. Ele acaba por cruzar-se com Ji Eun-Tak (Kim Go-eun), uma estudante do ensino médio que apesar de ter uma vida difícil é muito otimista. Ji Eun-Tak invoca o goblin por acidente e após vários encontros estes apaixonam-se. Sunny (Yoo In-na) é a atraente dona de um restaurante de frango que emprega Eun-tak. A vida dessas quatro pessoas muda quando se encontram e as suas vidas se entrelaçam.
