Sam ist ein vorbildlicher Häftling. Einige Monate vor seiner Entlassung aus dem Gefängnis bereitet er sich fleißig auf seine Wiedereingliederung in die Gesellschaft vor. Während eines Hafturlaubs holt ihn jedoch seine Vergangenheit ein und ein Unfall lässt ihm nur eine Wahl: die Flucht.
