S najboljim prijateljem Flounderom, Ariela skuplja predmete ljudi na potonulom brodu te kreće na površinu mora, gdje je dočeka galeb Scuttle, koji joj daje pogrešna objašnjenja o predmetima koje su našli. Uskoro se Ariela zagleda u čovjeka na brodu, princa Erica. Kada dođe do oluje, brod potone, a Ariela spašava Erica…
