Johnny McBrown retourne à Mesa city. Son ami, Alibi, lui remet une lettre de Mary, petite-Fille de Brimstone, lui demandant de se reconcilier avec son grand-père et de lui venir en aide pour sauver son ranch. En chemin, Johnny tue Steve Dallas aprés que celui-ci ait tué le conducteur de la diligence qu'il dévalisait. Alors que Johnny est accusé d'avoir tué Dallas sans raisons par le jeune frère du hors-la-loi, les "amis" de Dallas, de redoutables hors-la-loi font irruption dans le ranch.
