Le gouvernement japonais met en place une équipe spéciale pour combattre les créatures géantes qui apparaissent soudainement dans le pays. Bientôt, l'équipe rencontre de manière inattendue un humanoïde géant argenté qui commence à apparaître chaque fois qu'un monstre de l'espace attaque !

Une série de naufrages inexpliqués défraie la chronique japonaise. Au même moment, à la suite de plusieurs pêches infructueuses, les insulaires de l'île Odo organisent une cérémonie pour apaiser la colère de "Gojira", un dragon marin vénéré depuis des temps immémoriaux. Mais la nuit venue, quelque chose débarque sur l'île dans une tempête et piétine le village. Le lendemain, le professeur Kyohei Yamane examine le sol et découvre des traces de radioactivité ainsi qu'un trilobite. Un gigantesque monstre reptilien apparaît bientôt aux yeux de tous, avant de s'enfoncer dans la mer.

Shin Kamen Rider est un film japonais de super-héros tokusatsu écrit et réalisé par Hideaki Anno, produit pour célébrer le 50e anniversaire de la série Kamen Rider et est un reboot de la série originale Kamen Rider de 1971.

Ichiro, un jeune Japonais solitaire, dont ses parents travaillent beaucoup, est d'habitude seul à la maison avec son ami, un inventeur local, qui lui sert de baby-sitter. Dans ses rêves, il visite l'archipel d'Ogasawara, où il joue et explore l'île avec Minilla, qui est attaqué par le monstre Gabara. Cependant, quand il n'est pas endormi, Ichiro se ballade dans une usine abandonnée dans laquelle il rencontre deux braqueurs de banque qui le capturent. En utilisant les leçons que Minilla et Godzilla lui ont apprises, Ichiro échappe aux voleurs et aide la police à les capturer, il obtient ensuite la victoire sur ses assaillants, leurs montrant qu'il ne prendra plus leurs coups désormais.

Ryota vole un un bateau pour partir à la recherche de son frère disparu. Pendant le voyage en mer, le navire est attaqué par une terrible créature géante, Ebirah. Ayant accosté sur l'île de Letchi, il découvre que Mothra, un autre monstre, pourrait être capable de l'arrêter. En réalité, Mothra a besoin de renfort et Ryota va alors tout faire pour réveiller Godzilla...

Un étrange astéroïde s'écrase sur Terre et l'équipe du professeur Murai part enquêter sur place. Pendant ce temps, une femme étrange prétendant être une Martienne annonce que, si l'humanité ne se repent pas, elle sera détruite. La Martienne prophétise le retour de Godzilla et Rodan, ainsi que la venue d'un monstre de l'espace appelé King Ghidorah. Les prophéties se réalisent et Ghidrah sème la terreur. Seule solution : Godzilla, Rodan et Mothra doivent accepter de coopérer pour vaincre le monstre de l'espace.

Deux reporters, Ichiro Sakai et Junko Nakanishi, sont envoyés sur un site industriel dévasté par un violent cyclone. Ils y découvrent une étrange substance. Parallèlement, les pêcheurs de la baie de Yokohama ramènent un œuf géant et mystérieux qui est aussitôt acheté par Toharata, un homme d'affaires véreux. Malgré les recommandations du professeur Miura, inquiets de ce qui se cache dans l'œuf, Toharata décide d'en faire une attraction particulièrement lucrative pour les touristes et les curieux. À leur grande stupéfaction, de petites fées apparaissent pour reprendre l'œuf aux humains. Les « Aelinas », comme elles se nomment, sont décidés à récupérer ce qui appartient à leur déesse, la phalène géante Mothra.

Alors qu'ils survolent les mers pour repérer des bancs de poissons, les jeunes pilotes Tsukioka et Kobayashi rencontrent Godzilla et un autre monstre en train de se livrer une bataille féroce. Les deux créatures disparaissent dans l'océan, mais refont bientôt surface près d'Osaka, qui sera dès lors le cadre d'un combat à mort entre les deux monstres et les hommes.

Après l'attaque d'un bateau de pêche, le seul membre d'équipage survivant se rend compte que ce n'est autre qu'un Godzilla ressuscité. Cependant, les efforts pour faire la lumière sur l'histoire sont réprimés par le gouvernement japonais au milieu des tensions politiques croissantes entre les États-Unis et l'Union soviétique, qui sont tous deux prêts à bombarder le Japon pour arrêter le monstre.

Le professeur Yamane découvre des traces de radioactivité dans le sol et en conclut que le monstre a été irradié par l'arme atomique...

Un étrange monstre né de la pollution hante les eaux du Japon et attaque les bateaux. La créature grandit de plus en plus et gagne la terre ferme, répandant des vapeurs toxiques mortelles. L'armée et Godzilla doivent joindre leurs efforts pour tenter d'éliminer la créature...

Seul rescapé de l'attaque d'un navire de pêche par des insectes géants, Hiroshi Okumura révèle que ces monstres ont été libérés suite au réveil d'un monstre géant, qu'il reconnaît comme étant Godzilla. Ce dernier détruit un sous-marin nucléaire russe dont il se nourrit de l'énergie, jusqu'à atteindre la taille de 80 mètres. Il se dirige ensuite vers Tokyo.

Des scientifiques mènent des expériences climatiques sur l'île de Solgell, ce qui a pour effet de déclencher une tempête et de transformer les mantes locales en monstres géants : les Kamacuras. Alors que celles-ci découvrent un œuf géant et s'apprêtent à tuer le bébé, Godzilla arrive et lui sauve la vie avant d'entreprendre son éducation...

Une ancienne légende dit que le soleil deviendra rouge et qu'un monstre du ciel viendra détruire la Terre avant d'être arrêté par deux monstres terrestres. Peu de temps après la découverte d'une grotte dédiée à une divinité ancienne, un robot ressemblant à Godzilla et envoyé par des extraterrestres apparaît et commence à tout détruire...

En même temps, Baragon, un dinosaure mutant, sort de sa cachette souterraine et se livre à des raids destructeurs...
