While living as an ordinary deliveryman and motor racing fan, Nezha encounters old nemeses and must rediscover his powers to protect his loved ones.

The all-powerful Monkey King once roamed freely between Heaven and Earth, but after angering the Gods, he was imprisoned within an ice cage deep within the mountains. 500 years later, monsters attack a small village and a child flees to the mountains. Unknowingly, the child releases the Monkey King from his curse. With the help and encouragement from this special child, Monkey King saves the village from the evil monsters.

The Primus extracts a Mixed Yuan Bead into a Spirit Seed and a Demon Pill. The Spirit Seed can be reincarnated as a human to help King Zhou establish a new dynasty, whereas the Demon Pill will create a devil threatening humanity. Ne Zha is the one who is destined to be the hero, but instead he becomes a devil incarnate, because the Spirit Seed and a Demon Pill are switched.

At the end of the Shang Dynasty, King Zhou's tyranny made life unbearable for the people. Li Jing, one of the dynasty's most renowned generals, and his wife Yin Shiniang, faced a strange event when their child was born as a ball of flesh. Believing it to be a demon, Li Jing split it open, revealing a two-year-old boy named Nezha. To protect her child, Shiniang sent Nezha to the Nuwa Temple to be raised. Nezha befriended Yang Jian and Lei Zhenzi, and the trio delved into the world of kung fu. Yang Jian's sister, Yang Lian Hua, fell in love with Nezha at first sight. Meanwhile, King Zhou's indulgence in beauty and favouritism towards Su Daji led to widespread destruction. Jiang Ziya then led Nezha, Lei Zhenzi, and Yang Jian to persuade King Wen and assist King Wu in leading an army against Zhou. Together, they fought against the injustice.

As a horrible drought settles over the land, the world begins to wither and die. Desperate to save their lives and their livelihoods, the people of the Chentang Pass offer all they have as a sacrifice to the Dragon King of the Eastern Seas; but their efforts to appease the mighty lord just aren’t enough. Watching the world fade to dust, the Pagoda-Bearing Heavenly King’s son, Ne Zha (Jiang Yi Yi), realizes that the only way to save the ones he loves, is to take down the evil forces responsible for this terrible drought.
