Τρεις νεαροί κινηματογραφιστές που κάνουν ένα ρεπορτάζ για μια παλιά υπόθεση μαύρης μαγείας στην περιοχή του Μέριλαντ, χάνονται στο δάσος, απειλούνται από μια αόρατη οντότητα και εξαφανίζονται. Η ταινία που βλέπουμε είναι, υποτίθεται, το ακατέργαστο υλικό που άφησαν πίσω τους. Ένα έργο φαινόμενο που συνάντησε τεράστια επιτυχία στις ΗΠΑ και θεωρήθηκε, μάλλον υπερβολικά, ως σταθμός στις ταινίες τρόμου.

Η ταινία ακολουθεί τον Μπίλμπο Μπάγκινς στις περιπέτειες του, ο οποίος αποφασίζει να σώσει το βασίλειο του Έρεμπορ από τον τρομερό δράκο Νοσφιστή. Με την απρόσμενη βοήθεια του Γκάνταλφ του Γκρίζου, ο Μπίλμπο ακολουθεί μια ομάδα δεκατριών νάνων, της οποίας επικεφαλής είναι ο Θόριν Δρύασπις. Το ταξίδι τους θα τους οδηγήσει σε επικίνδυνους τόπους γεμάτους Τελώνια, Ορκ, λύκους και μάγους. Για να φτάσουν στον τελικό προορισμό τους, στο Μοναχικό Βουνό, πρέπει πρώτα να καταφέρουν να βγουν ζωντανοί από τις σήραγγες των τελωνίων. Εκεί ο Μπίλμπο θα συναντήσει το πλάσμα, που θα αλλάξει τη ζωή του για πάντα...το Γκόλουμ. Στις όχθες μιας υπόγειας λίμνης, ο Μπίλμπο Μπάγκινς θα ανακαλύψει ότι διαθέτει επινοητικότητα και θάρρος, καθώς θα καταφέρει να αποκτήσει το «πολύτιμο» δαχτυλίδι του Γκόλουμ, το οποίο διαθέτει απρόσμενες ιδιότητες. Είναι ένα χρυσό δαχτυλίδι δεμένο άρρηκτα με τη μοίρα της Μέσης Γης, με τρόπους που ο Μπίλμπο δεν μπορεί καν να διανοηθεί.

Ο Πάραγκας ένας από τους Σάγιαν που επέζησαν μετά την καταστροφή του πλανήτη του, πείθει τον Βετζέτα να τον ακολουθήσει στο διάστημα για να ξαναδημιουργήσει τη χαμένη αυτοκρατορία του. Μετά τον θάνατό της, η Μαίρη Σο, στοιχειώνει με τρομακτικούς εφιάλτες μία μικρή πόλη. Ο θρύλος λέει ότι όταν την δεις δεν πρέπει να φωνάξεις. Όταν η γυναίκα ενός ντόπιου δολοφονείται, ο ίδιος αποφασίζει να ερευνήσει πως αυτός ο θρύλος συνδέεται με την οικογένειά του. Μία παράξενη κούκλα τον συντροφεύει στο εφιαλτικό του ταξίδι.

Όταν η παρέα ναυαγεί στο ύποπτο νησί όπου ίσως βρίσκεται ο δράκος, μαθαίνουν την όλη την αλήθεια…

Maid Marian and her Merry Men is a British children's sitcom created and written by Tony Robinson and directed by David Bell. It began in 1989 on BBC One and ran for four series, with the last episode shown in 1994. The show was a partially musical comic retelling of the legend of Robin Hood, placing Maid Marian in the role of leader of the Merry Men, and reducing Robin to an incompetent ex-tailor.
