Μέλλον. Ο Τόμας ξυπνάει σε έναν ανελκυστήρα κι ενώ θυμάται μονάχα το όνομα του. Βρίσκεται σε έναν κόσμο με 60 παιδιά που έχουν μάθει να επιβιώνουν σε ένα κλειστό περιβάλλον, αρκούμενα στις δικές τους καλλιέργειες και προμήθειες. Ένα νέο αγόρι καταφτάνει κάθε 30 ημέρες. Όλα ξεκίνησαν πριν δύο χρόνια κι όλοι εκεί μέσα προσπαθούν να δραπετεύσουν μέσω ενός λαβύρινθου που τους περιβάλλει. Ενώ κάθε ελπίδα φαίνεται αδιανόητη, φτάνει ένα κορίτσι με ένα μυστηριώδες σημείωμα κι όλα φαντάζουν να αλλάζουν.

Δυο μέρες πριν παντρευτεί ο Doug πηγαίνει στο Λας Βέγκας μαζί με τρεις φίλους του για ένα ξέφρενο εργένικο πάρτι. Την επόμενη μέρα όμως, οι τρεις φίλοι ξυπνούν και κανείς τους δεν θυμάται τίποτα.
