Two young adults with families on opposite ends of the political spectrum fall in love in a Kerala city torn by violence.

A food delivery boy in Kerala, a representative of today's youth, strives for a better life. But he realises that nothing can be done beyond the limits of the system, and it begins to slowly affect his and his friends' existence.

Charu and her friends share a rented apartment in a sky-rise in Mumbai. All in their mid-twenties, and each hailing from different parts of the country, they have come here to make this bustling metro their home. One day a labourer comes to paint a soiled wall at her house. Irritated that her flat-mate did not inform her, she asks the man to hurry up. A few minutes later, she finds him unconscious on the floor...

The story of Aabhaasam is about an overnight bus journey from Bangalore to Kerala where the travelers analyze the schizophrenic society and how it has evolved through different times. It brings to audiences' attention how the societal views are influenced by patriarchy. The movie is director's attempt to show the bus as the metaphor for the system and the travelers as the victims.
