A happy-go-lucky husband has a wife bitten with social aspirations and this leads to several social mishaps.

The local newspaper celebrates 50 years and are now looking for a citizen who has lived as long in the neighborhood. Our hero Åsa-Nisse seems to fit the profile.

A Swedish drama from 1939 about the social and political developments in Sweden from 1885 until the dissolution of the union in 1905. The year is 1885, Christina Nilsson sings "Fourteen years I believe certain that I was" in the Grand Hotel's Great Hall .
