الرعب الساخر عن فتاة تبلغ من العمر ثمانية عشر عاما تتلقى مكالمة هاتفية تهددها بالقتل، لتموت لاحقا في ظروف ساخرة. في اليوم التالي تجتمع صحبة من الأصدقاء في هذا المنزل من أجل الاحتماء من عاصفة، لتبدأ بعدها الأحداث المخيفة والمرعبة في إطار ساخر يسخر من بعض أفلام الرعب المشهورة في ذلك الوقت.
الفتاة (سيندي كامبل) تعمل الآن كمحررة صحفية، وهناك شريط فيديو غامض تتحرى عنه، هذا الشريط كل من يشاهده يتعرض للموت في خلال سبعة أيام، وعندما تشاهده (سيندي) تسعى لإنقاذ حياتها، بعدما شاهدت الشريط بنفسها، وذلك فى إطار كوميدي.
تدور الأحداث بعدما ينتقلا مالكولم وكيشا إلى منزل أحلامهما، و لكن سرعان ما يكتشفا حدوث أشياء غريبة، ليتأكدا بوجود أرواح تسكن المنزل، مما يجعلهم يحاولون الحفاظ على حياتهم خاصا حياتهم الجنسية التى بدأت تنهار، لجأوا لمساعدة أحد الكهنة للخروج من تلك المأساة .
على رهان ، يشرع بطل شرير في مدرسة جون هيوز الثانوية في تحويل جين عادية ترتدي نظارة طبية إلى ملكة حفلة موسيقية جميلة وشعبية في هذا الإرسال الفظيع لنوع أفلام المراهقين.
في محاولة لإثبات الذات يبدأ ضابطا شرطة حديثا التخرج عملهما، ويتقمصان شخصية مراهقين فى إحدى المدارس الثانوية، كي يكشفا أطراف الجريمة، ومروجي المخدرات المسيطرين على المدرسة، وينتج عن ذلك العديد من المواقف الكوميدية.
بعد ان هجره مالكه السابق، يتعاون كلب وحيد مع مجموعة من الكلاب الضالة; من أجل تنفيذ مخطط انتقامي من من تسبب في تشريده.
يتبع العمل قصة "بو"، والذي عاش طيلة حياته متأثرًا بعلاقته السلبية مع والدته، وحينما تموت، ينطلق في مغامرة إلى منزل الطفولة في رحلة مليئة بالمخاطر.
يقضي رايموند ووينستون وقته في حفلات أعياد ميلاد الأطفال. أما إيجون فيقوم بإجراء تجاربٍ على المشاعر البشرية، تاركين فريقهم المعروف بتحطيم الأشباح. تعمل دانا على ترميم صورةٍ أثريةٍ تعود إلى ال 16 للطاغية فيجو، وتكتشف أن الشرير يريد العودة للحياة بالاستحواذ على جسد طفلها أوسكار. ويكون على الفريق أن يعود لنشاطه من أجل مساعدة دانا والمدينة بأسرها في مواجهة تلك الأشباح الشريرة.

On the 16th of August, 2010, it was announced HBO had reversed their original decision to cancel the show, and as a result, a third season was ordered. Season 3 of The Life and Times of Tim premiered on December 16, 2011. The first season was released on DVD on February 9, 2010, the second season was released on DVD on December 13, 2011, and the third season was released on DVD on December 18, 2012. On April 20, 2012, HBO cancelled the series after three seasons. The theme song is "I'll Never Get Out of This World Alive" performed by country music star Hank Williams.
